"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed" (John 8:36). Based in Kenora, our prison ministry allows us to bring spiritual freedom to those who are in physical bondage. Our main focus is the Kenora District Jail, but we also visit Stoney Mountain Penitentiary in Manitoba once a month. Time is spent with the inmates doing Bible Studies and one-on-one counselling. We also offer a variety of Bible courses that the inmates can work through on their own.
There are several prisons and detention centres that the staff of NYP visits on a regular basis. In Kenora we have a family stationed who do outreach to Kenora District Jail. Kenora is West of Dryden, about 1 1/2 hours away.
