Biography

I was raised in Virginia, in the middle of a large family. Now I call Dryden and International Falls, MN home. After attending college and teaching school for three years, I came to NYP in 1982 for a one-year commitment with Beaver Bible Club, a Bible correspondence school. After that year, I joined the NYM Ministries team, serving in the office as a secretary for six years. During those years, I travelled occasionally with Clair and Clara, including a trip to Alaska. After my first sabbatical in 1990, I accepted the position as Clair and Clara’s administrative assistant doing general office work, assisting in planning their ministry trips, and travelling with them across Canada’s northland and to Alaska. As the discipleship/counselling training began in the late 1990s, I added keeping the school records and preparing the materials for the ten-course program to my job description. In 2001 I finished counsellor’s training, and travelled with Clair and Clara on the trip to Greenland in October 2001. Since then I continue to travel to Greenland and across Canada and Alaska, assisting with the Basic Counselling Courses and Ten-Course Program, along with my office responsibilities. I am excited to be part of the training program among Native, Inuit and Greenlandic peoples, as they learn skills to help their own peoples. I am blessed by friendships with many people across the Northland.

Prayer

As I sit with your daughters, listening to their stories, may I ever direct them to you, the Wonderful Counsellor, the Prince of Peace. And as I answer phone calls, emails and letters, may I share your Words of Life and Truth.
