In 1990, when I was about a year old, my family moved from Pennsylvania to Stirland Lake, a Native High School started by NYP in Ontario. When SLHS closed in the summer of 1991, we moved to Cristal Lake, which had become a Marriage and Family Counselling Centre.
I spend most of my growing up years at Cristal Lake, becoming familiar with the Native culture and making friends with the native girls my age. I grew to love the North for it's trees, lakes and snow. It was home.
In 2003, our family left the North and moved back to Lancaster Pennsylvania for 6 months before my dad accepted a position at Bald Eagle Boys Camp.
Now, eight years later, I find myself back in the North, where the loons still call, the lakes are still blue, and the Lord is still working among his people.
My official title here at Beaver Lake Camp is Personal Worker. Some of my responsibilities include: Girls' Clubs, reserve visits, and helping out with events here at Camp.
I enjoy playing guitar, canoeing, and walking in the rain.
My prayer is that I would be able to live a life surrendered to Christ, and that He would give me a heart of love and compassion for the people I come in contact with. No matter where I find myself in life, my desire is that I would never lose sight of the ultimate goal of knowing God and making Him known.
